Truth

These are three reasons why many opt for relativism, which presents some problems for Christ-followers because the Christian faith is founded on an absolute truth claim: Jesus Christ is Lord! This claim cannot be true for me and false for you. It is what it is. Therefore if we believe Jesus is Lord of all, we can only conclude that relativism must be false as a world view. In the light of this, there are three reasons why relativism falls short of being a viable way of understanding how truth works. First, relativism is self-refuting. The claim that “all truth is relative” is itself an absolute truth claim. To make a claim about the way truth works is a claim that is believed to be true.

Absolute Truth Claim

When your truth comes from the science of the world, you miss out on a true reality—the spiritual reality, the creational reality that God is constructing every minute of every day. This foundational creation, the light of the universe, is forming every second that you are awake. While science often views the natural universe as a closed system that cannot create or destroy matter or energy, there exists a pervasive, universal truth that transcends both scientific and religious understanding. Every building, car, and object we interact with is but a window into this ongoing creation.

We are all antennas designed to receive this light—the knowledge that brings about divine insight and constitutes the will of God. Our consciousness originates from this truth, encompassing all evolving elements since the dawn of creation. When we rely solely on a secular or purely rational plane, we become "dream thieves," missing the exploration of possibilities that God communicates through visions and spiritual connections. True reality is found in the intersection where biblical truth meets the world reality, revealing a dimension of place and time that is heaven itself. By waking up to this cosmic linguistic nature, we move from being threatened by the ups and downs of life to finding security in the real self that is hidden with Christ in God.
